Without Conspiracy

A hot debate since March 2022, is going on in all circles of Pakistan on Conspiracy and Intervention. It all started after the then Prime Minister Imran Khan informed nation in a grand public gathering about a Foreign Official Document.

Pakistan’s military establishment later not only confirmed the existence of foreign threatening Document and also admitted Intervention in country but without any sort of conspiracy. The nation is still puzzled and eager to know that how Intervention was made possible without Conspiracy.

Whole story starts when opposition parties tried various ways to weaken, defame and detract Imran Khan during his tenure. All the different plans failed due to mis trust and lack of consensus among them.

Just some weeks before No Confidence motion, Shebaz Sharif on behalf of PDM came forward with proposal of   a national government. He was of the view that only a team comprising of all parties having representation in National Assembly could find solution to country’s economic and foreign affair problems but with minus 1 formula. It meant PTI in new set up without Imran Khan.

They had been encouraged by the behavior of some PTI members sitting in Tareen & Aleem groups and by the reports of some senior likeminded media persons. They had spread the feeling that Imran Khan had lost popularity due to inflation and majority of MNAs were worried about their future. Despite many efforts Shah Mahmood Quraishi refused to betray his leader and except few all-other members stood behind Khan.

Since CIA was in planning of removal of Imran Khan so Plan B was chalked out. A series of meetings was held by American officials with Pakistani politicians in Islamabad and UK. Specific signals were sent to Pak establishment. Then all happened which is not allowed in any developed democratic system. We all saw that on National media and social media but responsible institutions remained unaware. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan raised issue of foreign document with Security institutions a number of times but failed to get proper attention If it is still not conspiracy then what we would name it.

Pakistani nation sat till late in night before national media to see removal of a bold, honest and strong nerved elected Prime Minister. They saw him fighting till end against mafias and corrupt system. History of Iranian PM Mohammad Mossadegh had been repeated.

People could not recall any challenge to national security and territorial integrity of Pakistan. They had seen Khan trying to make Pakistan, a sovereign modern welfare state and standing in front on many critical moments.  His services for Islam were being applauded by Muslim ummah all over the world.

Those were very sad moments when they saw   the entire midnight Jackal operation including opening of Islamabad High court in anticipation of “possible sacking of army chief” as later narrated by establishment.  The nation also witnessed Supreme court judges rushing to court for arrest orders under expected      contempt court charges. They also could not believe themselves on knowing that prisoner vans were made alert in courts. People wondered about the person in command of whole system at that time.

Then around midnight Imran Khan became the 1st PM of Pakistan to be ousted on No Confidence motion under the umbrella of establishment. Was it not conspiracy? He walked out with elegance holding a simple note book in hand. He had ensured and managed to expose whole corrupt system after   facing a long blame game, controversial stories and character assassination on media. He left many questions behind to answer for times to come.

Nation was further stunned the way the old   terrible class of politicians, disreputable, corrupt, criminals, looters and plunderers were once again allowed to hijack the entire country. Crooks of Dawn leak and actors of Memo gate scandal and corroborators in 400 drone attacks on Pakistan were welcomed. They were once again honored to have their own favorite corrupt functionaries to play, destroy and weaken the country as per the instructions & wishes of their foreign masters.

It was astonishing for international media to see Shahbaz and Hamza Sharif both on bail and involved in billions of rupees of embezzlement and money laundering on key positions. Majority of politicians having criminal, money laundering and drug trafficking charges and on bail took oath as federal ministers and advisors. It was all acceptable to our establishment. Nation kept on asking “Why?”

The reaction of nation surprised many. Pakistanis both in and abroad came out very next day keeping aside Ramadan to show their solidarity with Imran Khan and their anger on role of establishment.

It was also very strange for many high rank officers to see Pakistani nation getting united on roads as well as on social media. Such a loud, long and harsh voice from low, elite as well as salaried class was neither expected by top rank Generals, judiciary nor by the script writer.

Thoughts and general perception of people about role of Pak Army changed within hours of operation. Even staunch supporters of Pak Army now blame top Generals   for their involvement in dirty political arena, for their support of corrupt system and be main players of conspiracy. People from all walks of life are showing their displeasure on the way Khan was dethroned. It is being discussed that the hurried operation at night was done only to meet dead line of foreign masters and local institutions made it all happen.

They strongly believe that our Judiciary is not free of influence of another important pillar of establishment.

People are now questioning the motives; role of different offices and possible back-room deals cut to throw out Imran Khan.

Some points and questions that keep on disturbing me are;

Why our Courts and Election Commission kept quiet when members of PTI were confined to Sindh house and Marriot hotel?

Why SC delayed decision on President’s reference? Why agencies did not inform the then PM about transfer of money bags to Islamabad? Why Establishment decided to be Neutral when foreign document had come in their notice? Why they did not stand behind PM after admission of ‘Intervention’ in National Security Council? Why ‘Intervention’ not taken as security risk? *Why appropriate measures were not taken to stop Intervention? * Is Constitution superior to Territorial Security and National Integrity of Pakistan? * Why establishment forced PM to change Punjab chief Minister and appoint someone of their choice? *If IK was to be replaced then why could not, they find some honest person? *Have economic conditions of Country improved with regime change? *Why was establishment concerned about PTI members whom IK was not giving proper time? * Why SC did not take up matter of Intervention in Country despite President’s letter? *Is there any logic in ousting Imran Khan in presence of following economic figures noted at the time of Nawaz and Khan led government exit.

The sentiments and feelings of masses have drastically changed because the operation was not only un timely, ill planned, badly executed but also exposed all institutions and created chaos in country. The selection of new team unveiled all intentions.

The word “Neutral “is being widely discussed and will perhaps be remembered for long time in our history. Sooner or later establishment will realize that how fast   reputation of institutions suffered because of Neutral policy.

Famous saying of John Kennedy comes in mind which he attributed to Dante was "the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis, preserve their neutrality”.

Masses are now deeply convinced that some personalities holding key posts ganged up just to throw out Imran Khan keeping aside country’s integrity. This perception is getting so much ingrained in minds that any clarification from institutions or propaganda against Imran Khan is making adverse effect.

Our institutions namely Armed forces had built and earned   good reputation over the years. Love and Romance of Pakistanis for their Armed officers is not hidden from anyone. This place in hearts of people was not earned by spending money or by force but was gained because of their sacrifices.

The nation lauds and still stands behind Pak Army but at same time has come out to condemn some actions of high ranked officers. It was old desire of our enemies to degrade our Armed forces but it seems that some present Generals either failed to read their hidden agenda or God forbid got compromised.

Time has come when our institutions should stop for a while, accept their mistake and avoid any further blunder. They should    read minds of masses and role of Imran Khan in converting different groups of people in a nation.

The last weeks after the intervention with so called without “conspiracy” have been a test of nerves for Imran Khan. He in these all tense, hard and unfavorable conditions   have played in politics just like he was seen in cricket grounds. He was graded as top captains and now he has rose above than a simple politician. He still believes in creating high pressure and keeping others guessing. The words written by Gen Salauddin Tirmazi for Imran Khan are worth reading.

“It no longer matters what we think of him. It is not important anymore whether we regard him as corrupt or innocent, view him as efficient or incapable, place him on a high moral pedestal or at par with his opponents. What many of us do not realize is that his fall was orchestrated, his rise was ordained. His ouster was managed by a few, his comeback is destined by the majority. His fall from grace may have been planned by humans, his rise to glory is destined by divinity. He has already reached a place where our opinions carry no weight since now, only Allah's decision matters”.
